Brandao, i'm only out about three weeks but I've already reaped some of the benefits of the surgery already. I've lost 41 pounds since surgery, my diabetes is under control. My sugar was 327 The morning of surgery,it is now around 100 consistently. The first week or so was a little rough but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. I'm an RN so I did lots of research and know of several patients who had good results with a DS and that's why I chose it. Like others have said you do have to be committed to vitamins and getting proper nutrition as well as following your labs. I have found A wealth of information on this site. Good luck in your decision.

I had a loop ds on 12/9/14. I had no complications with little pain. Some on the site downplay the loop DS as it is only been around 7 yrs . Results have been the same as a DS with less complications. However no long term studies have been down. Before the Auto everyone said the horse is best. After 6 days I have lost 18 lbs. I guess 6 lbs of that is water. But I can visibly see progress. Also my energy level is great. It is amazing once your body gets rid of carbs that have to making you sluggi****hink it is important to follow and notate water and protien input. I had a lap band in 2006 but it never seemed to be totaly effective. Had it removed but had to struggle with insurance to cover that part because they said if it had not slipped or lapsed the would not pay. Well the band was defective it had cracked in several places.

I would have the ds or loop ds. It is the best and the only thing you have to fear is fear itself.
