Questioning a Friend's Decision of Surgeon in UT

A friend of mine is considering going to Salt Lake City, UT. 

I know he has done the DS.  Make sure your friend knows what he/she is getting because I believe he does the SADI too.

No problems if that is what they want....but they need to KNOW!

I am 6 weeks out with the Loop DS with Cottam and have done really well. He only does the Loop or SADIs....so have your friend research both the traditional DS and the Loop and then make her decision. He is an excellent laparoscopic surgeon....I had minimal to no pain. If she decides on the Loop DS then I would say she is in good hands.

I know that he was one surgeon in the USA that was doing a trial for sleeve plication about 5 years ago.  He is also doing research with Dr Roslin in NYC with the SADI, and the 2 have been friends for years.  Besides that I dont have any other information.

Dr Cottam did my DS a year and a half ago. He's a great surgeon. He does the DS and the SADI. I would highly recommend him. He did my appendix surgery 3 days after my DS too.
