DS Surgeon - Jacksonville

Looking for information about DS DR in Jax.  Has anyone heard anything about one?

Never heard of him.  Does he do the real DS or SADI/SIPs?

Would you tell us why he said he doesn't do the SADI? I'd love to hear a surgeon's opinion about this.

I would be very careful here, it appears this surgeon may perform the BPD with a horizontal cut, losing your pyloric valvue.  this procedure has but all been abandoned, but there are a few out there that still do it.  so more research

Checked today and Dr Sharma keeps the pyloric valve in place. 

I've not heard of him in the decade I've been on the DS forums, so I would be wary.  As far as I know, your nearest quality DS surgeon is in Atlanta.  If he's offering the BPD without the DS, run far, far away.

Been here about 10 years, and on other sites devoted to the DS as well. Never heard of him, good or bad. That's not a good sign!

Make damn sure it's the real, modern day DS and not the BPD. Make sure you keep your pyloric valve. And ask how many he's ever done. If the number is acceptable to you, fine. If not you need to look elsewhere. You will probably need to travel further, but to get the right surgeon, it's worth the effort.
