Birth Control?

With our mal-absorption, is anyone having issues with birth control pills? I seriously do not want to get pregnant by not getting the correct dose due to mal-absorption. I do not have insurance and will have to pay for anything with cash. Is there anything that will work for a DSer that is not over the top on price? (hehe, I now have a sex life, GO ME!)

I found this article on birth control on dsfacts.com. http://www.dsfacts.com/Post-op-Birth-Control.html

An IUD is a one-time price and it lasts for 10 years.

I had one inserted at Planned Parenthood and it cost $85 (15 years ago).  I don't have it anymore, but it was so much easier than all of the alternatives.

I agee with Valerie, I got a mirena IUD, actually I am due for #3 but I am keeping this one longer than 5 years.  I have not had my period in 11 years, and I dont intend on being without an IUD till I am menapaused.  I was anemic also, so I decided to leave it in, be careful with birth control only, use condoms also, remember anything that has to go through the GI system has the potential to be malabsorbed, just be careful.

Thank you for the info. I was considering an IUD. I will have to check prices and see if it is something I can afford.
