OK It's done. I am 7 days post op and still in the regret phase.
OK everyone. I am now wishing i did not do this at all. My surgery was last wednesday and the doc could not remove my gall bladder as planned but the switch has been completed. The hospital stay was fine and I was released last Friday to come home. Saturday the ish hit the fan... literally. i was having explosive and alot of diarrhea so they had me go back to the hospital for rehydration and another overnight stay. i was also treated for low B12 and low magnesium. to this day i am still having diarrhea but I am also starting on the full liquid phase of my diet. I was told to start my vitamins but I can't they immediately are causing severe nasea and i throw up everything and then have more diarrhea. So here is my ask - i am taking the powdered vitamins that you mix with water and drink. can I not take a liquid or a gummie vitamin so i donn't have to stretch out this torture all day. Not to mention I am hungrier than ever and severely dehydrated - help
Your body has stores of vitamins to tide you over for the first few weeks (though I can't explain why your B12 was low). Focus on hydration, which is difficult enough at this early stage without worrying about the other stuff. And I would esp avoid gummie vits as I think they will just gum together in your brand new sleeve and make you miserable.
Don't panic. Recovery sucks. But soon you will feel better, and then you'll start experiencing the benefits of your DS and you will know you made a great decision.

You may need yet another IV if you're still not drinking enough. Throwing up and diarrhea contributes to more dehydration. You can take Immodium for the diarrhea and it should lessen for you. Get hydrated again and the nauses will probably subside too.

When you do decide to continue vitamins don't start them all at once jsut add one every day or 2.
I would avoid the gummies because people usually don't do well with them after the switch. Liquids
or chewables/sub linguals are your best bet until you can handle pills/ tablets/capsules.
7 days - hopefully you will start to see some improvement now. At that point I was just getting to the point
where I at least thought there was some hope I would get better. It will happen.
The Doc didn't take my GB and it hasn't been a problem. Hoping it works that way for you too.
