Good for you.. I looked to try and get the gastric bypass done for 6 years, and no Insurance would cover it. I started a new job, and ins was only 13.00 a check, and the surgery is covered 100%. My surgery is in 5 days. Im excited and nervous too

That's fantastic! Congratulations on your new job. That's wonderful insurance, I work at Mayo Clinic and I don't have that good of insurance. Maybe I am working at the wrong place😬

Again, welcome to both of you.  I makes me angry how insurance rules our lives and limits us in so many ways that we don't even see it any longer.  Ah, well.  I'm happy both of you have the green light.  It is a wonderful thing.

Way to go both of you. It's a pretty exciting time. Concentrate on what you want to achieve post-op. Try not to worry
too much pre-op although it is pretty unavoidable.

That's awesome! It's really a wonderful experience in the long run. Maybe a few bad days here and there but it's all about learning how to deal with your new equipment. The best advice I can give is to walk, walk, walk as much as possible as soon as they let you at the hospital and then as often as you can after going home. It helps in every way! Gets the anesthesia out of your body and makes you feel soooooooooo much better! And the other is to drink water, drink water, drink water! Sugar free popsicles are great too in the beginning. Trust your medical team! Everyone in the OR and the hosp just want to make sure your surgery comes out positive for everyone concerned. Wonderful bunch of health care professionals! Remember they ARE professionals! Trust! Best wishes!
