I agree with the other ladies. The fact that you say you won't have to do the liquid diet and will enjoy your favorite meals prior to your surgery may be a hint that you aren't in the correct frame of mind for yet another revision (unless your favorite meals are healthy small portions of lots of lean protein and leafy green veggies??). Perhaps some counseling would help you become better prepared for your surgery. Just a thought. All the best.

Obviously, and unfortunately, some doctors are just in it for the money.  Don't follow established guidelines.

Oh well, another deactivation -- what a surprise

I'll be honest with all of you that reading the way you treated this woman really bothered me. I too had a lapband back in 2005...I was very happy with it and lost to goal. Then it slipped and I had to have it removed and replaced with a sleeve. The sleeve was never successful. I kept weight gain at bay for 4 years with diet and exercise, but recently put on 20 lbs as an injury forced me to stop working out an hour a day. I have always eaten right. I'm having a DS revision at 155 in a week and I'm very confident in that decision. I"m sorry to say to all of you DSers who haven't had a lapband or a sleeve that you are wrong. I know exactly where this girl is coming from...she may have used the improper terms to describe it, so let me explain. The lapband does cause vomiting, it doesn't have malabsorbtion, but it does SLOW your digestion. The sleeve does NOT and when it's a reality and it's happening to you it makes a huge difference. I appreciate that there are medical doctors willing to do the surgery and I trust their judgement. You watch ....in a few years the sleeve will have the reputation of the band.
