I am happy to report that my surgery date was moved up from 11/18 to 11/5!! I am so ready for the change but now I am panicking. i sure hope I can do this. I have a pretty severe food addiction but I am so ready to be liberated from this body! My family is being so awesome and supportive. we are having thanksgiving this weekend! I start Liquid on 10/13 and my husband and kids are gonna try to do it with me. I had my last Girl's night out planned but that has been cancelled. What is the deal with alchohol - can we or can't we drink at all after the switch? I have heard both?

Most are told not to drink for a year.  The massive weight loss makes your liver work too hard!

Nothing wrong with having 2 Thanksgivings.  You will enjoy both of them!

Congratulations!!!  I was told to be careful drinking, as I would be a total light weight.  They also said it can raise your acid levels very high so you might want to try taking a PPI the day before, the day of and the day after.  I don't think they mentioned my liver at all, but I could have just been practicing selective hearing.  :-)

I've been told and researched that the reason they don't want you to drink is because the alcohol gets absorbed into your system too quickly and can lead to alcohol toxicity on very little alcohol.  Be very cautious if you drink.
