I think this surgery is finally going to kill me

Pat, I am gonna disagree with all of these great folks who say stop counting calories. You need to be counting, and you need to be counting a LOT higher than 2000. My husband and I both had the BPD-DS in 2000 and 2001. 14 years later, if he lets his calorie count drop below 4000, he will lose weight. He drinks 4-5 protein shakes a day to maintain his current weight at 175. Probably, he did not need a distal procedure. Me? I have to count my calories the other way; if I eat more than 1800 calories, I will start putting on weight. So for me, I have to exercise actively and routinely, and be reasonable about what I eat..
If your wife has not done so, she might want to read one of the books on Paleo eating. I am shocked (after all these years - really!!) at the difference it made it my bowel habits to cut out all grain products (not to mention how I feel overall).

You know its funny me and my wife are the same way She tries to keep up with me and she puts on weight. Last time in she outweighs me by 1 lb. She likes sweets I don't.She can eat fast I can't. As far as doctors go there are none here that do the DS. So all I can do is present them with some facts on paper and hope they read them.
