Is this a surgery I can do? BMI 36

I had a spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid leak in the sacrum. (CSF Leak) I ended up going to Cedar Sinai to see a specialist there and had spinal surgery to seal my leak. It was bedridden for almost 4 months. I'm doing much better with some lingering problems and hoping they will eventually get better.

I am also a "lightweight"- started at just over 40 for a BMI, but being so short (5'1") a lb or two can tip me into the 40+.  I had no comorbids but I do have Rheumatoid arthritis, which was enough to get my insurance to approve.  My surgeon was open to any surgery I wanted but was not a fan of lap band, which I know is often pushed on the lightweights...
