Hello all;

I have been visiting my Bariatric surgeon for the past 6 months to be evaluated for a revision from RNY that I received in 1996 to a DS. I started at 394 lbs. and my lowest was 174 in 1999. over the years I maintained under 200 lbs. At 49 I stopped working and went out on disability. I gained 75 pounds in less than 5 years. My current weight is 265. I really need some to share their experiences on this conversion. I never want to get back to that 394 pound woman, too many co morbities then and too many now.

I also had a rny converted to a ds. Had my rny in 200 lost 260 lbs. Bounced up 40lbs and sat there fur several years(180). Had some undiagnosed medical problems which caused me struggles keeping it off and than got arthritis and gained back to 299 (still not the 400 i weighted prior).

Heard about the ds this year started following the eating plan in January lost 20lbs. Had the ds in july. Surgery went smoothly no problems. So far have lost another 45 lbs.

Do struggle with what i an suppose to eat since the nutritionist says eat low fat but everyone else says otherwise.  I am the type of person who needs set in stone plans.

I advise making sure you know what your dr knows what he is doing and that you know exactly what he is doing.  A lot of drs are doing a sadi and calling it a ds but it is not.

Good luck
