Anyone over 300 lbs. NOT have a boatload of skin post-op?
Inquiring minds want to know! My surgeon said it's possible, but not sure how true that is for us heavy weights!
Hi Ms.
Good luck with having had your DS surgery !!! You're on your way to a new life..
I started out at 356 pounds and I am down to 174 after 3 1/2 years.. Surgery was 2011..
People tell me I don't have that much saggy skin.. I hate my belly though.. OH and I hate exercise too..
I guess everyone is different. I would say start with some sort of exercise program and see what happens.
Good Luck

I was 294 and I'm not bad. I had hernia surgery and opted out of a tummy tuck. Not that it wouldn't be nice but I'm 46 and it wasn't important enough for me to take the risk associated. If I could have it magically go away I would but I'm ok with my body as is. I thought I would be very insecure about it but I wear shorts, bathing suits and sleevless shirts.
Hey there!! I was well over 300 when I had my surgery. I am down now to 150 AND weight lift A LOT and have been weight lifting for a few years to avoid the loose skin and I still have had to have plastics. I have one more round of plastics until I am all done. I think if you stay well hydrated and start lifting to help fill out that skin it won't be as bad as it COULD be
Haven't had my surgery yet, but having lost large amounts of weight previously (~80lbs) I think it's hard to avoid. I worked out, lifted weights, etc and my poor arms still paid the price. Having 2 kids didn't help either. Maybe if you don't have any sagging skin now and don't already have an apron belly it won't be as bad as it would be for someone (me hahah) that does.
I was 340 to start with and maintain now at 140. Most of us heavyweights have loose skin, but not all. I had a ton of skin, but I am older (48) so I was not surprised. Plastics was my present to myself for a job well done.

Thanks for asking this question - it's been on my mind too and I appreciate all the responses you've received! I'm sure each experience is different, and obviously overall health, genetics, length of time being the skins has stretched. While still pre-op, I'm actually dreading potential plastics than the WLS.
Good luck to you!
