to ds or not to ds?
Girl...I am saving a TON of money not buying insulin, testing strips, or high blood pressure pills, and my grocery bill is WAY down. As a diabetic, I was already on a medication regimen, so changing that from insulin and needles and poking/testing to vitamins is like a dream come true. I tried for 10 years to get the surgery, finally got it this past March, am diabetes free, high blood pressure gone, I can walk and walk and walk and do things, and I'm so $*@ing happy it's ridiculous. It's not hard if you're motivated. I knew diabetes was going to kill me and I want[ed] TO LIVE!!!!!!!!
PS:
I was approved for an RnY in 2006 and I walked away from it, and waited eight more years to have the DS, which I believe is the better surgery. Why have multiple surgeries? Just my 2 cents.

You don't have a SOUL, you ARE a soul. You HAVE a body.--C.S. Lewis
It boils down to what you're happy with weight loss wise, and with the sleep apnea, you really have to consider the pros and the cons. No one likes having to take a boatload of vitamins, but I'm sure there's a part of you that knows that something with malabsorption may be the only thing that will work.
