Anyone with sensitive stomach prior to their DS?

Yes Dr. Todd Wilson is one of Erik Wilson's associates. My original intention in researching DS in Houston was to go to Erik Wilson but due to a vacation and then many appointments when he got back I would not have been able to see him for a few months. I have been having a lot of problems with reflux which now I know is due to a very large hernia. I decided to see Dr. Todd and decide from there if I wanted to wait and see DR. Erik later.

Dr. Todd Wilson is amazing. He listened to everything that I had to say (unlike my sleeve surgeon who shut me down immediately when I asked him to do a DS), asked me appropriate and thought proking questions, and I was thoroughly pleased with him. He never tried to talk me out of the surgery and instead asked me why I wanted it and if I was prepared to do the after care.  After asking him questions about procedures he has done, I am confident in his ability and skills.

My surgeon was Todd Wilson also. I LOVE him. For me, Eric was a little too busy and I felt I might get better attention from an equally skilled surgeon with a less pressing schedule. Honestly, I felt like Eric's was a bit of an assembly line.

I wouldn't expect much change in that aspect.  I would think that already being in the habit of avoidance, life would be much easier than to us being new to it all.

I was sensitive before and for the first 6-12 months after it was worse, ie breaded chicken gave me gas and that small an amount of breading never did before.  I'm over 2 years out now and it's either the same or possibly better than before.

I think the sensitivies are about the same, but I used to take Naproxen every night as I used to get bowel cramps that would wake me in the early hours.  Now I just wake early to poop.  If I get to sleep 'til 7am on a Saturday, that's good LOL.  I get up at 5am in the week, so 7am is nice in comparison.

Thank you so much for your reply!! Did you take the naproxen before or after your DS?

Naproxen for the bowel cramps was pre-DS - I no longer suffer those cramps.  I still take Naproxen every once in a while if I get neck pain as I suffered a broken neck 20 years ago and I find the Naproxen as effective as it ever was.
