Help, my cousin is dying!
I was utterly mortified, I think my jaw dropped to the floor. All I could do was apologize to the patient for his unprofessional behaviour, provide him more pain medication, explain appropriate follow up care and offer him the number of my Manager if he wanted to file a complaint. I reported it to my charge nurse and manager as well.

JAMJO,
PLEASE LOOK THis UP: American Bariatrics Support and see if there is any help there.
OH Vets: there is a legal organization that someone had posted on here not long ago, do any of you remember it's name? Perhaps they could assist somehow?
I don't know if she can be helped but I sincerely hope and pray she can!

If all else fails, go to the emergency room. They have social workers on staff that can help her apply for insurance and potentially apply for assistance through their benevolence fund. Even if she doesn't have insurance, they cannot turn her away. Go everyday until they listen!
I am am glad to hear that a specialist is looking into her cir****tance- please let her know that funds are out there if she request help!
The emergency room will only evaluate her for any immediate, life threatening conditions and will provide whatever treatment is necessary to stabilize her and then will refer her to a doctor for follow up. They will NOT provide the kind of care she needs (and having her go in day after day after day is ridiculous since it will do nothing for her and will tie up the ER resources for people *****ally NEED emergency care).
The OP already indicated that she will have insurance in a couple of weeks, so she doesn't need to apply for insurance.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

according to the OP,she WAS going everyday.
I'm not able to read all the responses as I'm recovering from spinal surgeries, so forgive me if this has already been mentioned.
Please consider speaking with Dr Ara Keshishian in LA area. He is one of the leading experts for revisions, he accepts Medicare and is a kind, gentle man. I would expect that he would give your cousin full picture without any shaming or blaming. Be sure once things are resolved that your cousin follow a comprehensive a plan like Vitalady's.
He did my VSG to DS revision in January, I've had no complications and am very pleased with my experience so far. I traveled to have my surgery with him and very happy I did.
Here is his website: http://www.dssurgery.com/
Wishing your cousin the very best. She is lucky to have you as an advocate.

Ignore the bullies for some reason some people think because they are on the internet they can be brass. Originally when I was looking into the DS I ran across someone who was self involved and had several minions who followed. Most individual who act like this are not educated and far from professional the best thing you can do is dismiss them as they are not worth your effort and pay attention to those on here who actually do know what they are talking about and desire to help. Just because someone had the procedure and has read on it does not make them a great teacher. Some can communicate well and get concepts across that will help others do not and it would be so nice if they would simply keep to them selves as you did not ask for their assistance in the first place and no one wants to listen to them talk to begin with. To behave like this they must have poor self esteem and more psy issues then any one on this board could assist with. Good luck Sarah will be in my prayers tonight and remember to focus simply get the help you need for your fiend and the rest of the crap that is not helpful let go in one ear and out the other. Thanks God the morans of the world do not have much impact other then posting a neg comment on a forum.
