Howdy. Gina I found this Wiki blurb about scrapple:

"The first recipes were created by German colonists who settled near Philadelphia and Chester County, Pennsylvania in the 17th and 18th centuries."

I know it's made of cornmeal, spices and leftover pig scraps, hence the name - scrapple. Yum!!!

German, who would have thought?  Interesting though.  I'm surprised the Scots didn't pick it right up when they came over.  The only difference would be using corn instead of oats. Scrapple and haggis sound so similar.
