Wait, HOW much calcium?!
Jashley has an interesting concept there. They say that normies absorb 500mg calcium at a time so accounting for malabsorption, if you double that figure to 1,000mg then you're back at 500mg if you assume there's a 50% malabsorption (OK, I assume that Jashley is rounding up as that's the dosage of her tablets).

I my DS
I take 3000 to get 1500.
Remember, your absorption is only 50-60% with the DS, except for simple carbs and simple sugars, which is 100%.
That is why we have to take such ultra-high doses of vitamins and minerals to get what we need. You're only absorbing half - or just a little more than half of what you put in. Plus, if you have bone density issues, which some of us do, you have to take even more.
Edited to add: You need to split your doses - I take no more than 1/2 a pack of UpCal D at a time.
With pills, no more than 1/2 a pill at a time (300mg at a time, roughly) times 6 for 1800, times 7 for 2100, etc.
I take calcium 6x/day. 600mg each dose. You have to have enough calcium and D to bring your PTH down if it's high. I also take my dry vits (A, D, E) during the night. Serum calcium mostly will show normal, if your muscles need calcium it'll be pulled from your bones. Calcium is cheap. Also, after I turned 40, my PCP had me on 2000. But, back then I was taking 2-1000k at once. Learned a lot since then.
