DS stomach emptying

How long is it suppose to take for a DS stomach to empty??

We have fully functioning stomachs.  Not a pouch.  It takes about the same period of time for our stomach's to empty as it does for anyone else.

Except for less room the time should be equivalent to pre-op. I can be anywhere from a half hour to an hour and a half depending on what I eat.

I saw 2 different DS surgeons - had DS with Greenbaum. Greenbaum says not to drink 1/2 hr after eating other surgeons manual says not to drink for 1 hr after food

You have a functioning plyoric valve that controls when the stomach empties.  The rule not to drink 30 -60 min after eating is to prevent pouches from being flushed empty.  It is not applicable for those with DS or VSG.  For some reason, the medical professionals don't have the ambition to create separate paperwork for those patients.
