low iron
Ferrous sulfate isn't so good. The BA iron should be carbonyl iron and much easier for us to absorb. I took 300 mg of carbonyl and 1 to 2 Proferrin ES tablets a day when I was bringing my iron markers up. 300mg of carbonyl with vitamin C with a window of an hour on either side with no calcium, dairy, eggs, whole wheat or caffeine. The Proferrin I took at bedtime but you can take it with nearly everything since it's heme iron. It took a year to bring the iron markers up.

Ferrous sulfate is many Doctors iron of first choice. 325mg has about 60-65mg elemental iron which is the number
you are really concerned with. Check the label on the bariatric advantage iron for the amount of elemental iron. That
way you are comparing apples to apples.
Carbonyl iron is absorbed better and causes less stomach distress but it all depends on the person and what they need.
I recently added ferrous sulfate and proferrin (the heme iron Gina was talking about) on top of the carbonyl I was taking.
lab tests indicated I was still losing ground on just 180mg of carbonyl and my Doc added 325 mg ferrous sulfate twice a day.
I added the proferrin (that's a brand name) on my own, twice a day, because there are less restriction when taking it but it is more expensive.
