Lowest weight since 1980...
As of this morning, I am the lowest I’ve been in 34 years!
In the spring of 1980, after losing almost a hundred pounds in my teens, I hovered around 210 lbs for a few weeks (before gaining 125 lbs in 10mo after a back injury). In another few pounds, I will be in totally uncharted territory…the only time I remember weighing less than 200 lbs, I was 9yr old!
I am down 167 lbs from my all time high, and 65 lbs since having a VSG to DS revision 5 months ago.
To our continued success!

The main difference diet wise is that I never feel hungry now.
I certainly eat more fat than I did with the sleeve and enjoy every bit of it. I eat bacon several times a week, prawns and the occasional lobster tail with garlic herb butter, and when I was feeling particularly ambitious created some killer bacon and blue cheese meatballs with sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions and roasted garlic. In the past 2 or 3 weeks, I've been missing fruit and veggies. So if when I want to have some berries or salad, I'll make a yummy protein iced coffee/mocha to save room for them and still be sure to get my protein in.
I spent much of last year really making peace with the lifelong commitment to take a comprehensive array of supplements. I can’t stress how important this is! I follow Vitalady’s program but have made some additions to address other (not related to DS) health issues and switched a couple of brands as I think they may be even better quality. Sometimes it’s a bit of drag taking the supplements through the day (I was used to taking them morning and before bed) but for the most part, it has become second nature.
My other big concern was bowel issues and gas. On the few occasions I’ve had more than 50 gms of carbs in a day, I’ve been a little gassy. And, sometimes now onions will give me a little bit of gas (but not enough to stop me eating them). I generally have 1 BM in the morning and I’m good for the day. I’ve not had (knock on wood) any problems with diarrhea. I would say the smell is different and sometimes a little stronger but not particularly offensive. I know of people who had intestinal bypass surgery years ago, that could still darn near peel paint with the smell, so I was quite worried about it.
Good luck to you in your journey.

I my DS
thank you for that! I am looking forward to my DS so much! My surgeon is Dr. Ungson and date is August 21. I love his credentials and history, but scared to go out of the states. The ONLY doc in Colorado that does a DS only will do a "one loope" DS which from what I can tell doesn't have the history yet to back it up. And, I really want this to be my last surgery, and I want a classic DS that I know will give me the best chance.
Do you mind If I ask did you need to be resleeved?
Thanks! Anna.
