Great Doctor visit

Sometimes it is great to have it pointed out how far I have come.

I went to my endocrinologist today - diabetes was gone after the surgery but officially it is in
remission so I have to go every 6 months for a while. HbA1c is great 4.3 but she went through
her records for the last 18 years. I am now at a lower weight than at any time in the last 18 years.

It made me want to do a little jig. I left feeling great. Just thought I would share. Have a happy day everybody.

Pete, congratulations on your awesome success. You have really made the most of your DS. I hope your doctors will learn from your experience what a great option this might be for other patients.

Great success! 18 years, that must feel awesome. I think it is hilarious they will not allow us to be Non diabetics. No we must use the term in remission. I prefer to claim cured.

Debra, I find it funnier as time goes on. It made me nervous in the beginning thinking I would wake up one morning
needing to go back on meds. As time goes on and I get more confident I do find it a funnier distinction. :)
