I keep gaining weight!!! HELP!

I am 4 1/2 out and over the years I have gained back about 10 lbs. of my inital weight loss. Over the past 2 months I have been really trying to take them off.  I am not perfect and I occasionally eat what I shouldn't but I have been focusing on protein, eating more fruits and drinking more water as well as working out at least 4 times a week, cardio and weights (not crazy heavy weights but lighter weights, high reps.)

These are all the things that I would assume would help me lose, but instead I am GAINING!!!  Every time I weigh myself I am a pound or two heavier!  And this has been going on for about 2 months!  I am now over 20 lbs heavier and I have no idea why!  I keep hoping one day I am going to get on the scale and be less for all my hard work and I'm not!  And its not just from the weights, because all my clothes are too tight, so you can't even say that.  I've gone up another size and I look heavier.

I am 4 years out and have been eating a certain way for all this time so I know what I need to do, At the VERY LEAST I should maintain not gain - WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!!

Has anyone ever had this issue?  I could really use some insight.

Thanks.

Go back to basics. HIGH PROTEIN, LOW CARB. And if I where you I would stop the fruit, very high in carbs, besides it takes up the room you can use for fat and protein. Make sure you are getting enough protein every day.
But...... also remember that there is always some bounce back with the weight, and this could be your time for the bounce back.

Do you have any other symptoms?  Do you feel bloated?  Have you had your thyroid checked?  Are you labs good?

It would be interesting to know if you are able to lose any weight at all by changing your diet.  Swapping veggies for the fruit would help, and cheating once in a while has actually proven to be good for your metabolism.  Just keep note that it takes about 4-7 days to get the body back into ketosis so cheating once or twice a month is good timing.

Eating fruit isn't bad.  But it's a choice that needs to be made.  Either you do low calorie - by eating veggies, fruit, no fat, lean meats - or you do Ketosis by eating fat and proteins and low carb veggies.  Can't pick foods from both programs and lose weight efficiently.  The sugar/carbs drop you out of ketosis and the fats will blow the calorie counts.

I've read some veterans talk about eliminating dairy from their diets to take off the weight they gained or to maintain.  If all else fails, try cutting out diary.

I would recommend you get a physical because it could be your thyroids, or something, and make sure all your labs are good.  I would think since you are active with the cardio....that would do it..  Stick to the cardio, and test out that.

I have gained 18 lbs since my weight loss and this month will make my fourth year.  However, over the years I have had a lot of changes in my life, therefore in my diet.  It seem since the 2 years year I am gaining 5-10 pounds a year.  Once I lost my lowest weight my bounce back was 8 pounds and seem comfortable there.  I am in the process of trying to get the 8 pounds off me. I want to stay in a certain range.

Hey are you taking in extra Iron pills, that also caused weight gain for me, and I was constipated?

Be very conscious of the "add-ins" that we forget to count; bbq sauce, sugar free syrups, sweetners... all of these are things that our body could be reacting to that we don't realize.  Not only that but what are little things that over the past four years have crept back into your habits that you don't even realize.  Something is off and it is almost always due to the diet or the exercise.  Don't be afraid to lift a little heavy to build muscle.  PUSH yourself at the gym, just being there doesn't just make it happen by osmosis.

I am also 4 years out and have worked very hard to ensure that I have not had any significant stalls and have never had weight gain ever.  But it is HARD work the further out you get.  You have to be very honest with yourself and be willing to cut out things and try different things to see what works and what doesn't.

I am also 4 years out and have started with the same problem. My lowest weight was 164lbs (exactly 200lb loss), and that was 2 years ago. I went back up to 175 and stayed at that weight the entire 2013 year. The last 3 months I have jumped from 175 to 191 this morning. I am not eating any different than I normally have. I haven't been exercising more, or eating more junk, nothing! Seeing that 191 on the scale this morning freaked me out, SO close to 200 :(   I guess it's time to join the gym, and start eating the celery again. Sheesh. :(
