Hello Everyone,

My Total Bilirubin has elevated since my surgery June 30th 2010.  I was curious to find out what was your number, and should I be concerned? I noticed the elevation happened right after the surgery.

I would point it out to your PCP and surgeon. Mine hangs around .5 and never got very high just after surgery either.  According to my lab they would flag it once it reaches 1.2. Too high would indicate jaundice.

also, according to dr google, it can be caused by anemia and strenuous exercise.

I developed Gilebert's syndrome post DS. It's harmless to have elevated billirubin levels (for the most part) and there really isn't a treatment for it.

Go to a dr. and have it checked out- i eventually ended up at a liver specialist (a hepatologist), who said keep an eye on it, but it's no biggie.
