5 Days Post-Op - Carbs?

My surgery was last Wednesday and everything went well.  I'm having some trouble finding liquids that I can tolerate but I did find some Thai coconut curry chicken broth that goes down nicely.  Since I have yet to find a protein shake that I can manage to choke down I tried adding some unflavored Isopure to the broth and that seems to work for me too.  I'm supposed to do 4 weeks of full liquids and I'm inclined to just live on the broth until I can find more things that sit well.  However, the broth has 4g of sugars per cup which means to do 64 oz per day would come to 32g of sugars (and ~100g of protein).  Is that just too much sugar?

By all means keep looking for things that go down well.

Now your job is to hydrate and heal.  Drink what you can tolerate.

I wouldn't sweat it.  A standard cup of yogurt has up to 36g of sugar, and you're talking about spreading this out over the entire day.  I say rejoice in something that doesn't suck to get you rehydrated, and damn - meeting your goal for protein.  That's a Win/Win IMO

I don't think it's a big deal but wouldn't it be better if you just made a cup with a bouilion cube?
