Has anyone been diagnosed with a fatty liver since surgery?

The majority of us probably had this preop and usually it goes away with weight loss.

I never had it and now my dr wants to do a ultrasound due to high levels on liver test.  Had DS 2010

It's because your liver enzymes are high.  During the fast weight loss period it's pretty common to have these.  Are you still losing?  At 4 years post, you should be back to normal or close to it.  And btw you can have high enzymes and NOT have a fatty liver.

You wouldn't be the first, second, or third DSer to be improperly diagnosed because their doc didn't know squat about the DS.  One woman was even put on a transplant list!  An ultrasound is not invasive and can't hurt you but before I was willing to take a bunch of drugs or have anything invasive done, I would get a second opinion from a doc *****ALLY knows and understands the DS.  Maybe you can email your test results to Dr. Smith and see if he is concerned.

I am going to call Dr Smith with the lab results.  My primary care Dr took blood work twice and now wants to do a ultrasound simply because that is just the sequence in which they do things.  I am sure its just a fatty liver because Dr. Smith did tell me that my levels will always show high.  I am just trying to reach out and see if anyone else has had this because I have a really hard pain high up under breast every now and then like maybe 6 times this has happened in the past year and its a pain that feels like its stabbing from my back and into my area under my breast and it tightens up really hard then it releases in just a few minutes and is gone.  I have researched fatty liver and this could be the reason for the pain.  I have had zero problems since my surgery 4 yrs ago so I am just a little concerned now.  Thanks for your help!

Do you still have your gall bladder?

Have them check your Vitamin K level. Low vitamin K will present as liver issue. My PCP did not catch it. When I went in for hernia surgery, the surgeon flagged it.

Make sure you eat your protein!!!! It was lack of protein that caused the low K.
