1 week post op!

Today is 1 week since my surgery. I have felt pretty good for the most part. I have had some days that I felt like death. I have been managing to get close to 64oz of liquids a day, but barely any protein. I did manage 20g of protein yesterday, but felt nauseous.  Cold drinks are an absolute no for me. Warm and room temp seem to sit pretty good. I haven't weighed yet because I am trying to hold off until my first follow up. I still feel quite fatigued all throughout the day though. I am so grateful I am on the road to recovery and weight loss. No more waiting for surgery no preop appointments. I am so lucky my process for surgery was so easy.

Congrats on your surgery! It sounds like you are doing great! I can't wait to feel the "no more waiting" for surgery feeling.

Hope things continue to go well!!

That's amazing for one week out. Welcome. I applaud that you can stay away from the scale like that. It will pay off in the long run.

Congratulations, AKI14!  I am one week post-op also.  I love what you said at the end of your post.  Well said!

I wasn't really told what to expect after leaving the hospital, but it stands to reason that we will feel weak and fatigued because we aren't getting any calories to speak of and haven't for awhile, and I am assuming that is normal. I suspect we will begin feeling stronger once we can start adding small amounts of calories when we start the soft food phase. I guess you haven't started that phase yet either?

I have my follow up tomorrow. I believe the nurse told me I will start soft solids tomorrow.  I am ready. I didn't think I would feel hungry, but there has been a couple days that I felt super hungry.
