Finally relief for gas

Good afternoon DSer's,

i was having so many problems with gas no matter what I ate. I could hardly go anywhere in the evening I had gas so terribly bad. A friend told me about this probiotic with 100 billion CFU'S.  I started using it and within day my whole life changed. I hardly have any problems with gas and the bloating is gone also.

Has your probiotic really helped with the odor? Also what is the name of yours, curious if it has a billion diffierent probiotics to the ingredient.  The one I take now is from Wholefood, 365 day complex.  I wonder if they are any good now since I have read this email.

I think different probiotics work well for different folks.  I was to the point that I thought I'd tried everything too and they just weren't working well until read on another DS group about VSL#3-DS prescription and VSL#3 OTC.  The prescription comes in powdered packets of 900 billion bugs.  I experimented for about 2 weeks and was about to give up but my system finally worked itself out and now things are much much better. Even better than being on a maintenance dose of Flagyl (fishzole).  I take 1/2 teaspoon twice a day. I think that's coming out to about 300 billion bugs a day. It helps tremendously with the gas in the evenings.  I can't say if the overall morning poo smell is cut back, maybe some. Yes, I think it's better. I got my surgeon's office to prescribe it. They had never heard of it. I'm to report back on how it's working, so it might help others too.

That's great! Where is the best place to purchase these probiotics?

A health food store like Sprouts or Whole Foods. I buy my 100bil at Sprouts. Super expensive though!

I am taking some High end Probiotics that have to be refridgerated and coconut Keefer and it has really helped me as well. I am glad to see you have found a solution!! Isn't it great to not be farting all day!!??

If anyone has links to what they are using -- I'm desperate to find a probiotic that works.  I had ZERO problems for the first seven years after my surgery, but in the last year, it's been awful!!

Woah - I thought I was doing OK with 4 billion a couple of times a day, but this thread got me hunting and I managed to find one with 30 billion that isn't too much more expensive.

i started taking the coconu****er probiotic today how long before you noticed your gas issue was resolved? I've done an elimination diet and I was already on 2 probiotics and I added this one after seeing your thread...here's to hoping it's the ticket!
