My surgery was on 4/30.. While doing the DS.. she also did a hernia repair and adhesion removal. I'm having such pain on the left side!!!! the pain meds aren't really helping at all!!!.. did anyone else struggle with this pain on the left side?? I've also yet to pass gas too... how long did it take for some of you?

I want to cry.. the pain is so bad. Especially trying to get up from couch, chair, toilet, bed....

Call your surgeon! We can't help you with this. Your surgery was so recent that this could be a complication - no way some stranger over the internet can sort this one out. If your surgeon is not available, go the the ER. Pain this severe so soon after major surgery should not be ignored or put off because it's the weekend. Even if it turns out that it's not a serious complication, you need relief from your pain, and the ER can help with that as well.

Don't waste another minute - call the surgeon.  They have a service that can contact them in emergencies -- this counts.  You could also start making your way to the hospital ER.  This can be something very serious.

I called the dr, he side left side pain was normal. That's where the trochare (sp) goes and where most of the work is done. There was a mix up with my pain Rx meds. While in hospital I was on 30ml of  lortab and a dose of toradol. I was sent home with only 15ml of lortab. So,he raised the does and things have improved. So hopefully on the upward swing.

It's never a bad thing to check with the surgeon. Finding the right amount of pain meds to get you through the first part can be tricky. I'm
glad things are looking up. The worst part of the operation for me was the first couple of weeks. IT passes. Hopefully gas soon too.

I'm glad you spoke with your surgeon and that you're doing a bit better now. Don't be shy about calling again if you need to. That's what they are there for.
