Surgery on Wed 4/9 and I'm SICK!!! :-(
I thought it was just my allergies acting up (yay, Spring! lol) but now my son is sick so I'm thinking that I might have some kind of cold virus. I woke up this morning with NO voice! I am so worried that they are going to postpone or cancel my surgery on Wednesday if I'm not better. Anyone ever been in this situation??? Help!
I think I'm going to call my surgeon in the morning and tell him what's going on to see what he suggests I do. I'm really panicking! This has been 10 months in the making and I'm mentally and physically ready.

I didn't have a fever, I was getting over bronchitis. I was panicked, I asked everyone I could think of (surgeon as well as the hospital staff, family doctor, etc etc), I never did get an answer. I showed up, expressed my concerns again, and they still didn't really say anything about it so I stopped asking and had the surgery with (yay) no issues.
Ask the surgeon (and or the team) and I'm sure you will get an answer. Make sure you get lots of rest and fluids to boost your system as much as you can.
(of topic of wls but I also had a c-section whilst sick, so it probably is up to the doctor and what they feel comfortable with.)
I'm feeling much better tonight but not yet at 100%. My surgeon is aware and I'm sure they put it on my chart now so everyone else will know too when I go to check in tomorrow. I'll bring it up too just to make sure they're aware. Hopefully things go on as planned but if not, I'll just have to deal with it. I'm certainly not going to try to force the doctors to do the surgery if they are reluctant. If they are reluctant, I'm sure it would be for good cause!
