Nausea/eating issues 3 months out
HIJACK-
Sorry but I saw a post tht made me think of some info you need Tif.
The symptoms you are describing are the first signs of dehydration. If you're not taking enough fluids
in,that's what happens.
Doesn't matter which surgery you had, at this stage of the game, for you, FLUIDS FIRST!!!
Also, don't be afraid to ask you doctor to set you up for IV fluids. It doesn't mean you failed at this. I
went in twice for IV fluids at 4 and 6 weeks out. It's just like anything else medical that we would seek
help for.
Feel better...and if you need IV fluids, by all means ask for it!
I was a virgin DS, but I had eating problems for two months. The solution for me was an upper endoscopy that was ordered to see what was gong on in there.
The scope stretched my sleeve somewhat, and I've been eating like a champ ever since.
I'm not sure if they can do that with you, but it might be worth a shot to ask your surgeon.
My follow up surgeon is another matter entirely. I haven't seen the Dr that did my surgery since I was in the hospital. Everything goes through the follow up surgeon now. He prescribed Zofran but my insurance will only pay for 21 pills a month unless the Dr calls them to request they pay for more. I called my Drs office and requested he call in. The nurse called me back to tell me there was nothing he could do. I explained again what he could do to help. The nurse said she'd talk to him again. Then they never called back. I really feel like I'm on my own now.
