Craving sweets ... Never did pre op
So I have a severe case of pcos.... Which is most of my weight issues. I never craved sweets only carbs pre op. I am down 83lbs in month seven now. Have about 30-40lbs more to loose. My periods now seem to be regular which is great... But now I crave sweets when I never did before.... The only other time this happened to me was when I was on metaphormine .... Is this insulin related due to my pcos?
I don't know the answer about the insulin but what you might want to do is get some really dark organic chocolate and eat a bit of that when you get a craving. It's lower in carbs and scratches the itch for many folks.

I have the EXACT same issue! My PCOS is also not good and I still have not had a period in over a year (but I also train very hard for bodybuilding and keep a strict diet so that adds to it as well). BUT the sweet cravings have been AWFUL after I was taken off the Metaphormine... there are THREE things that I do that help with sweet cravings:
(1) Protein truffles- flavored protein (I like cinnamon bun) with a tbsp of natural peanut butter and a little bit of almond milk to make it tacky. Roll into balls and put in the freezer.
(2) Mug cake- Flax meal or almond meal, scoop of flavored protein, cocoa powder, stevia, vanilla and a pinch of baking powder in the micro
(3) a little dunk of natural peanut butter on a tsp. hits the spot.
