DS Revision

Hello, I was a member of this group many years ago.  I had the BBD/DS in Aug, 2001. I lost a lot of weight, about 200 lbs. but not all that I needed to lose. Still need to lose 100 lbs.  I really want to know if anyone in this group has ever heard of a revised DS. Possibly to make the common channel shorter. Or has anyone ever had the lap band done after the DS. I know that sounds crazy but I am feeling like I never even had the surgery.

revisions are definitely possible, though I wouldn't go for lap band over DS. Why add the most ineffective bariatric surgery to what you already have? It would make much more sense to have your sleeve re-sleeved to get back the restriction that is gone by now. This is being done by experienced DS surgeons. As to making the common channel shorter, that would depend on what length of cc you already have and lots of other factors that would best be discussed with a surgeon.

I agree with Larra. Look at the resleeve and talk about your cc length with the Doc. Have you had any deficiency issues? That might make a difference on any thoughts about shortening your CC.
