Sorry you are not feeling well. I have not had my surgery yet but I a sure this is a common feeling and will get better with time. Focus on staying hydrated above all. Continue to read here, there is a wealth of information on OH

Come on, give your surgery and yourself a decent chance! You just had major surgery with alternation of your intestines 3 weeks ago. It takes time for your body to adjust to both the physical and metabolic changes you have undergone.

Stay focused on fluids and eat little bits when you can. Try pre-mixed shakes like Adkins - those powders make lots of people gag, the Adkins were the only ones I could tolerate. The chocolate is best, served, really cold, and the cheapest place I found them was Walmart. Hang in there and don't let yourself become frustrated. It WILL get better!

Your about 3 weeks out. I was just starting pureed foods at that point. This was also the point
where I started to feel a little better each day.

Do you just not like the protein shakes or do they not agree with you? This early your tastes
may still change about the protein mixes. I'm just wondering if you need to look at something
like Jay Robb which is made from eggs and not from milk like most of the others.

Also, you might try unflavored powder. A lot of people use that mixed in yogurt or other things
because they don't like the flavored stuff.

Personally I like both Optimum Nutrition 100% whey and Syntrax nectar.

What about things like yogurt, cottage cheese, other soft foods?

Are you getting in enough liquids?

It would really help for you to list some of the things you have tried specifically and what your Doc
is expecting from you.

allergic to eggs and milk.....tried whey protein and had severe diarrhea in hospital.  Never heard of the syntrax nectar, will look into it.  That is why I reached out for help on here.  The more experienced can give good advice.  I started pureed 2 days ago....still trying to figure out what likes me and what doesn't.  Thanks for helping!  Your doing very well...congrats!  I just need to be patient and relax.

I hate the protein powdered drinks. I would rather starve than take those. Therefore I drink isopure zero carb. They are clear protein drinks that you can get from gnc. There's 40g protein in each drink I usually mix one of those a day with like a zero carb powerade or drink with no sugar. This cuts the sweetness of the drink, I get more than half my protein in and my fluids.  Best thing no milk, no soy, no eggs.

Week 3 and 4 the only thing my stomach liked was tuna. Very good very high protein. Trying mixing with mustard relish instead of mayo since you can't have eggs.

lastly give yourself a break. The first four weeks are hard. Nothing is consistent. You will hit your stride. I am the most impatient person ever...if I can do it you can do it! Also you can look to beans for protein. Trying making like an edamame hummus (you can buy just the inside of the edamame in the froZen veg aisle) or garbanzo beans.

Good luck!

Virgin DS or revision?  Who was your surgeon?  Do you have your post op report?  All of this is important.
