Veggie Noodles

I have heard there are noodles out there that are made for veggies. Does anyone know if that is true, and if so what they are called and or where to find them?

Google zucchini noodles or look for zoodles on Amazon!

I've not heard of these!  Are they any good?  I ask because shiritaki noodles were gross.  I tried rice pasta and it wasn't terrible, but would prefer to get veggies instead of rice with them.  Please elaborate !

Walmart now carries Shiritaki /tofu noodles. They have more calories (15 per serving) but have a better texture. Still kind of gummy....but they are better then the straight shiritaki. You really have to rinse them well- and dry fry them for a few minutes. I've been buying them...dry frying them (as per directions), adding onions and green peppers with oil. I then nuke an Atkins TV dinner and throw it on on top of them. The brown gravy TV dinners are the best--because it makes it like a mock version of Chinese food.

I tried the original shiritaki noodles 7 years ago, and thought they were gross.

you can buy a kitchen contraption that thinly slices zucchini into "zoodles".  Perhaps this is what you are referring to?

Personally, I couldn't find a noodle I liked.  The whole wheat/Dreamfields one tastes like sawdust to me.  I preferred to eat a small portion of the really good stuff that I craved, but only infrequently as a special treat while I was losing.  Now I eat regular pasta when the mood strikes...I just eat a small quantity, but load up on the meat and cheese sauces

Yes, that's my solution as well cut the pasta in half or thirds, double the meat and enjoy in moderation. You'll find yourself less able to indulge or even enjoy and simply reduce the intake naturally.

There is a squash like spaghetti squash that when you cook it you use a fork to remove and is about the size of spaghetti noodles

Tried that.  It's much better with butter and seasonings.  It was just plain weird with pasta sauce.

Made FOR vegetables or made FROM vegetables?

There are pastas made from black beans, which while not a vegetable, may be what you are seeking. I made a batch and my son said it looked like I was trying to feed him baby eels. Did not go over well and tasted quite icky to our palettes, too.
