ds on feb. 4....????
I have tried very hard...fluid intake minimal...food intake also very minimal. Makes me wonder where the neck all the vomitting comes from??? I love water and can't wait to drink more! So worried about lack of protein and hydration. Thanks, I hope to find relief soon too:) guess I am feeling buyers remorse, but got to focus on the long term results!
Dehydration causes nausea, so it can turn into a horrible vicious circle. Insist on seeing the doc asap. It may be as simple as an IV to rehydrate, but admit that you cannot fix it yourself and get yourself into a position that you can control from there.

I'm sorry to hear you're suffering with vomitting. I had a horrible time the 1st couple of weeks but didn't vomit ... Definitely had buyer's remorse - that part is normal for a lot of people.
I would say don't try dealing with this on your own. Even if you can't get protein in - it's critical to stay hydrated. If you're already dehydrated, things will probably not get better on their own. I would definitely get back to my surgeon ASAP if I couldn't hold anything down.
Hope you're better soon!!
I've not previously heard of the surgeon you have listed as someone who does the DS. What operation did you have? The extent of vomiting you are having is very unusual for the DS, but whatever operation it was, you are at risk for becoming dehydrated and the problem is NOT your fault. You are doing the best you can. Please let your surgeon know what is going on.

I had rny in 2004, and this month was revised to sleve/duodenal switch. He is an excellent surgeon. I am his first revision of this type. We figured out what caused the nausea and vomitting. Stopped all dairy last night and have eaten and been able to drink without vomitting. So happy! Thanks for all your help and support! We all get frustrated on our journeys...so I am thankful for all of you.

You are either very brave or very (I don't know what!) to volunteer to be anyone's "first revision of this type"!! RNY to DS revisions are extremely complicated and only a handful of surgeons in the world are adept at them.
I'm glad you resolved the vomiting issue and I hope that you have an uneventful recovery from here on out! :)
