Can you eat steak?

I've always assumed steak was fine since its just protein and fat, stuff we need.  But I have been noticing after dinner many nights I'm filled with gas even if I've eaten nothing out of the way.  I was reading yesterday on another board that many people have a hard time eating steak, which shocked me and made me question if this could be my issue.  God I hope not!

Anyone else have a beef sensitivity?

Thanks!

I eat steak and have no issues with it. I enjoy it once a week most of the time... I only find I fill up faster but no other issues...

What else besides steak are you eating? It might not be the steak but something else you are developing a sensitivity too...

I am three years out and the first two years only drinking milk and pasta really bothered me...now the list has expanded to most gluten. I can have some but I have to limit much more than before...

Become a label reading...gluten is in SSOOO much so who knows what you may have eaten unless you log everything for a few days to see what you are eating...then do an elimination diet...eat very basic...things like chicken, eggs for protein and not much else...and start adding back one food at a time. It IS time consuming but eye opening.

I am 4 years out so I kinda of know how stuff effects me.  Basically eat gluten-free because almost any starch bothers me, which sucks, but it helps keep my weight down.

OK last night I had a salad (no funky greens) steak, carrots, a few broccoli florets (I take the Beano tablets when I eat gas producing veggies) with no starch and water.  That's it!!!

Lunch was egg salad, homemade and an apple.  Greek yogurt and banana for snack and some nuts.  All acceptable and don't bother me.

I can't understand how I could have wound up with a bloated distended belly!  Any

At 3 years out I am discovering what didn't bother me yesterday WILL bother me tomorrow...so NOTHING is out of the realm of possibility at this point.

Could have been the salad, the carrots, the broccoli, the Beano, the yogurt, the fruit...any of those could all of a sudden be an issue where they weren't before.

Sounds like an elimination diet is in order.

Usually the people that have trouble with steak only have an issue because it can be so dense.

I love steak!

Probably should eat it more often, as it's an excellent source of protein. I do find it filling, but that's ok.

I eat steak every chance I can get.  My favorite is Ribeye.  Perhaps the gas is coming from your favorite seasoning or condiment?  I suffered for a long time eating just meat and veggies at the mongolian grill, until someone mentioned terriyaki sauce causing gas.  I changed sauces and haven't had any problems since.  It took me 6 years to learn that!

Steak is my best friend at 6 months out. LOVE it and eat it at least once a week. I hope you find out what is bothering you and hope it does not turn out to be the steak for any reason.

For whatever it's worth...... My breakfast everyday for almost 4  yrs was bacon and a hard boiled egg.  Then I noticed I was getting gas shortly after lunch. Process of elimination; it was my beloved hard boiled eggs. I didn't want to believe it. Eggs are so easy, yummy and hard boiled, makes them very portable.

had to give them up if I was going to be around folks later on.  So far that's the only protein item that I lived on for years and now they are not my friend.   oh well, whatcha gonna do?
