Sick as a Dog

At 2 weeks out, sounds like you're on track. Don't worry so much getting protein in from food. Your new designer tummy is all swollen and still quite angry with her new alterations.  Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate, is most important right now.

Took me years to get my tummy to accept cold liquids. Hot has always been a success for me.  Sometimes, even plain water would upset my tummy.  I most drink decaf coffee and decaf tea to this day.  Over 100 oz each day.   Try different liquids, different temperatures.  Flavored teas, crystal light, make up a protein coffee, or protein chai tea.

the best advice I can offer is keep trying one item at a time and see what works. Ask you Dr. about another form of PPI that won't make you sick.

things do get better.  I promise.

Hi Noreen. I couldn't ingore what you said in the comment. It really took you years to get back on the cold liquids? Years?

Yup. If I remember it was about 2 yrs before I could do cold drinks.  Hot hot summer day I saw a ice cold bottle of water in the fridge and I just knew it would be ok.  Don't know how to explain it, foods you can't, or are unable to tolerate, early on; one day you will just know it is ok to try them again.

Step by step. People are right about not worrying too much about protein and vits for the first month or so. The
30,60,90 rule gives you a better perspective on what you should be aiming for. Be more conscious of liquids at this point
than anything else. I hope the nause gets better for you soon.

I fully agree, no matter how much you read and research, when it is happening to you it can be a strange and amazing time.

After 2 weeks I was able to start to see a real difference in how I felt. Still took a while to feel actually good but I at least started to have more optimism that everything would work out. I hope it works that way for you.

I remember this point... everything seems to bother me... I finally started trying foods that were a bit thicker and just chewed longer and I started adding things that were a few weeks away from my Dr's plan... I ate cheese, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, sandwich meat, tuna  ect and I started daily to feel better. I also took Gas x and tums several times a day. I think this will be a distant memory for you soon..... My guess is within a few weeks you will be shocked how improved you feel.... Hugs hun

I have days were I can go off plan and have something a little more solid because the liquids weren't working mentally. But since I have been nauseous I been going back to only liquids. I haven't really had tums or gasx but I think I may try these.

I know with me the liquids seemed to make me worse by far.... on the bad days I would wake up and force myself to eat and it seemed to help... then after 30 min or so I could get drinks down easier... Good luck hun

If you're not getting enough fluids, that could very well be causing your nausea.  It's a vicious cycle.  The doc can prescribe something for that, but they may also want to put an IV bag in you to see if that helps.

For protein, you may want to try egg-white protein.  It doesn't have that awful whey taste and mixes well with other things, too.  It's a little more expensive than the whey, but if it sucks less, you may be able to force yourself to drink it.

I see the Dr. today. I might have to try egg white protein because I used to not mind my shakes now the taste like sweaty butt. (Or what I imagine sweaty butt would taste like that is) I seriously considered dehydration but I don't seem to be dehydrated. My problem is that when im nauseous i do not want to put anything else in my tummy.

I never found this information online, and I would very much appreciate it I could get it here on OH. How much $ do you spend on supplements: vitamins, proteins, minerals and so on? Thanks
