Sick as a Dog

I have been struggling these first two weeks. I want to eat instead of drink but then my stomach is upset. My stomach is upset most days. I expected this to be a struggle, getting in my fluids, my protein, and my vitamins. No matter how much you prepare for life post DS, it's still like you don't know anything. My fluids are getting better, but my protein sucks. I can't stand the taste of the protein powders I have, and I'm not eating enough protein. I know all of these are huge no-no's but it is so difficult to make these goals. Don't get me wrong it is getting a bit easier but the constant nausea is putting me back. I've prayed to the porcelain god a few times. I have good days and bad days. Anyways, any pieces of advice or tricks or anything will be appreciated. Because I am having a hard time.

I have atkins premixed shakes but they are just as hard to get down.
Are you on a PPI? And did your surgeon clear you for solids?

I'm on a ppi but its liquid and makes me either want to vomit or I do vomit. My plan says I can have soft foods but sometimes I just rather not eat. Yet sometimes I want to eat everything that I see. I did make a sugar free low carb cheesecake cupcakes and it has been pretty good to me. (I used almond meal for the crust and sugar substitute)
Try liquids at different temperatures.

Hot liquids go down easier but I really want ice cold drinks. However my new tummy wants to avoid them like the plague.
I had horrible heartburn for the first time in my life after my DS. I used a RX from my surgeon, and then relied on Tums. I kept them bu my bed at night too. It gradually got better over about three months, and I never have a problem anymore.
And remember to sip, don't gulp. And this early out, don't drink water and then expect to find room in your tummy for food. It's pretty little right now. Keeping drinking and eating as separate activities for a while.
If you work out, you will likely need more (more carbs as well).
I think the 90 range is common, or maybe on the low range of "normal." Some shoot for 120. I have read of people who shoot for over 200, especially if they are active. There is no way I could ever eat that much.
The number one gauge will be your labs.
