Just not into it...

Ok, so you are dialing back your emotions to avoid the pain of disappointment if another speed bump gets in your way. It's human nature to try to protect ourselves. But if you let the delays shake your commitment to the WLS process, you are caving in to cowardice. Don't go there! You have nothing to lose and everything to gain if you remain firmly committed to having WLS and working to be successful.
The WLS process is life long and requires a firm commitment, especially in the first year or two. There will be plenty of speed bumps in your path as you learn how to eat and exercise and change your behavior and attitudes. Some days it will seem like a part time job as you learn what works for your body and your mind. You will need patience to cope with and work through the inevitable stalls in your weight loss, patience to deal with stupid (but often well meaning) comments from others, patience for your mind to catch up with your changing body, etc. The week ahead is just one more pot hole in the road that you drive through on the way to a better life. What's one week of a liquid diet compared to being free of years of misery and pain (mental and physical) due to obesity??? Absolutely nothing!
C'mon! Up and at it. You can do this!
