Poop question

Sorry about the subject matter, but everyone poops, right?

I've always assumed that the color since the DS has been generally lighter than pre-DS because food moves more quickly through our systems.  If I had to compare shades of brown, using meat cooking terms, I'd say my poop now is a medium-rare/medium, whereas pre-DS it was more medium/medium-well.   However, when I was visiting my mother over the holidays, I had apparently left a small floater behind, and she commented on the color, in that sometimes a lighter color is a sign of liver trouble.  Of course, blood tests would be a better indicator, so I'm not too concerned, but it got me thinking.

So, just wondering if my lighter color is common amongst DSers, or am I out of the norm?

Im on the vitaladys iron, and amount. So mine is the color of dark "gun metal" grey. If I miss a day or so of iron it turns light again.... I might add Gun metal describes the color perfectly. I stole the description off of OH from many that describe it in this manor.....lol

Me too.  That is exactly the color of mine.  If I don't get the iron in, it gets a light swede color.

Light poop is also just a sign that food is moving through your digestion system too fast - which for us, is exactly what is happening since the food is going through much less intestines.  So I never thought more about it.

Mine is the same as Dustycroy's.  Light/clay colored after DS but with Vitalady's iron supplements it's turned a dark grey/green color that approaches gun metal grey.

I know now that it's 'normal' post DS for it to be odd light colours. I wonder too, because I know before surgery when it was lighter I was having liver issues. It makes me nervous but I guess asking a doctor would be the best way to know.  It's likely the shorter processing time+extra unabsorbed fats+different supplements one is taking, but confirmation would be nice :)

No iron supplementation here.

Always lighter. Every time.

Mine stay light since surgery unless I take a lot of pepto that day.
