I am 8 days out and felling just hungry! I am getting enough liquids so I know. I'm hydrated but nothing seems to fill me up. I have moved from clear liquids and now have a week on full liquids. I hate. Cream soups....I used to love them and.   Broths are just not filling. I'm  doing good other wise walking , I have not taken any pain meds in 5 days I am tolerating premier protein and can usually get through 1 carton a day....so I am getting at least 30grams a day...I can't have any puréed or must foods until next Friday...idk if I can make it...help!

Other than this issue I'm doing great and happy! I've lost 25 lbs already so I know it's working.

Egg drop soup and yogurt should help.  Greek yogurt has more protein once you're allowed anything that thick.

at 8 days out IMHO,you should be able to get more than one carton of protein in. I would think you could get at least 3 in. I would suggest starting to increase by starting another carton a couple of hours after the first one is gone. Try to increase the amount slowly by a few more sips every day.

Full liquids also include sf pudding and Greek yogurt and some include oatmeal though I personally wouldn't eat it. You are likely hungry because 30 grams of protein is nothing, really.

You're hungry because you're eating next to nothing. THIS IS NORMAL. Don't worry.

Egg drop soup was a lifesaver for me! I'm about 5 weeks out and it still is! It's very easy to make. I like to make my own broth and grill the pre-cooked chicken for my husband/kids. I also did the Premier Protein drinks. I could get 2-3 in a day a week out, but sometimes I just couldn't handle the sweet flavor. That's where the egg drop soup was really good. Good luc****ep us posted!

Stay away from the cream soups. Most are made with white flour and lots of fat, which at this early stage, will about kill you when it passes through. And probably give you a lot of gas, which will make you uncomfortable. And its a carbs and no protein, which isn't setting you up for good choices further down the line.

Search "ricotta fluff." Eat cottage cheese, greek yogurt, a scrambled egg with lots of cheese. These were things I was eating when I got home from the hospital. Babybel cheese and I continue to be best friends.

Hydration is most important. Broths can keep you hydrated, give you flavor, and can be filling. Egg drop soup is an excellent choice.

I know all of our doctor's orders are different, and at 8 days out, I was not on anything but liquids - 2 ounces every 15 minutes, with protein once an hour.  Egg drop soup, yogurt, etc. were not introduced for 2 weeks.  Yeah, I felt a bit weak and hungry, but even though I felt hungry, I didn't want food. It was a big difference once I was able to get to soft foods.   Again, we are all under different orders from our docs.  I agree with others, you should be getting more protein in during the day.  That should help.
