syntrax nectar

Would someone please tell me what syntrax nectar is and where I would get it?

I have a surgery date of Dec 16, so I've been reading the messages making mental notes of all the things I need to do and not do. It's a lot of info!  Quite a few of you talk about syntrax nectar, but I don't know what it is.  Any and all info is greatly appreciated along with any other hot tips on what the best protein shake is.  Lots of varying opinions on that too.

I have two weeks from Monday to stock up on liquid/soft foods, vitamins, and lots of protein.  It's getting here very fast and I'm getting very nervous, excited, but nervous.

Thanks for all your input!

Hey!  My date is December 17!  I'm having the same feelings. I thought the coffee was some sort of decaf with cream and flavourless protein but I am very likely wrong.

Coffee protein is just what the name says...coffee with protein powder mixed in.   This worked best for me as iced coffee, with heavy cream.

Hot liquids make the product curdle. You can sweeten  it with whatever sweetener you use,  Protein powders also come pre flavored and pre sweetened - with sugar-free sweetener.  I use unflavored powder and use extracts or sugar-free flavor syrups, like the ones you put in coffee drinks,  to sweeten it.

Syntrax Nectar is a brand of pre-flavored  pre-sweetened protein powder.

You can order it online direct from the company, or you can find it on eBay.  Google Syntrax Nectar,  bariatric nutrition or bariatric supplies and you can find sites to order supplies that way.  Also I use Lucky Vitamin.com for vitamins and supplements.

Thank you for explaining all that. My surgery is in about 2 weeks and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the prep work I need to do.

Hi there! :)
I buy Syntrax Nectar protein powders from Vitalady, when I place my vitamin orders, and VitaminShoppe. My primary favorites are vanilla for my protein coffee, chocolate truffle and strawberry mousse for lunchtime shakes, and I buy cappuccino flavor for hubby's protein coffee.

Protein Coffee
Brew a pot of your favorite coffee (decaf or reduced caffeine)
In a blender bottle with wire ball add 2 oz of 1/2 & 1/2 or heavy whipping cream and 2 oz of coolish water. Add a heaping scoop of vanilla protein powder, a dash of cinnamon and another packet of Truvia or Splenda, if you like you coffee sweet.
Cover and shake the protein into the cream for about 5 seconds.
Either pour the protein slurry into a huge 20 oz mug or just keep the slurry in the blender bottle and top off with your hot coffee (you can also substitute brewed chai tea)
Gently tilt the blender bottle or stir to mix. (Don't vigorously shake a hot protein shake in your blender bottle--it's explosive)
The secret to keeping the protein from clumping is to keep it below 160 degrees at all times. Add hot liquids to cool protein slurries, not the other way around.
Enjoy!

Don't buy a big tub of anything just yet.  I recommend several single servings of different brands and flavors, and do NOT try anything until you're back from the hospital.  What tastes okay right now could be like poison when you're post-op.

The Vitalady site also has Syntrax nectar samples. I tried those before buying some. I like them but I find them pretty sweet. I use them as more of a change of pace. I currently have the cherry flavor and it is pretty good. I sometimes mix with chocolate or vanilla to get some variety in flavors.

My main powder is Optimum Nutrition 100% whey from amazon. When I first had the surgery most of the pre-mixed were too thick for me.

It's an exciting time. Congrats.
