Im sorry to hear that diet hasn't been as successful as you had hoped T Lady, I have been watching with interest as you are similar to me in many ways.  I am stuck with 40lbs to lose which doesn't seem to want to budge no matter what I do.  I suspected I had PCOS but I had a test and my Dr didn't seem to think so but I have several of the symptoms, so who knows, I hear it is hard to diagnose.  I always believed I had a harder time losing weight that other people, the only diet I have ever been on that I lost weight on was Sureslim (not sure if you have that in America) which is so ridiculously restrictive, weighing everything, including veggies, and very small amounts of everything, I was permanently hungry, even after eating, cold and totally miserable but i lost 32 lbs in about 6 weeks before going crazy and going off the diet.  I tried the diet again after DS and I still got so hungry, me and starvation don't get along.  I have a friend here in NZ who had the same operation as me and she lost 4 lbs every single week and now eats her body weight in chocolate without any weight gain.  While what I eat is healthy I think, I think maybe i am still eating too much even though DS'ers arent meant to worry about calories so much (?) I think I need to and i know I need to work my butt off with exercise which I am not doing.  I'm with you - we will not give up x

Thank you for your supportive words! My weight loss leveled off around 10 months out. What surprises me was a drop in weight after childbirth. 30 lbs came off really fast while I nursed. After I was done nursing the first baby, my weight stayed around 170. I had another baby, gaining about 15 lbs and immediately went back to 170 until about a year ago. I slowly started the regain even with a proper DS diet. At 189 last march, I panicked and have been pretty much on the Atkins induction diet since then. I also was never tested for PCOS, but with all of my pre-op symptoms, my PCP/doc was sure of it. I'm going to try upping my exercise, since losing weight while breast feeding leads me to think that I'm a super absorber and I was burning about 1000 or more calories per day from nursing. I only take in about 1200 calories now and that is without doing ANY DS math. Ugh, so frustrating, but your "atta girl" and support truly helps, thanks! I'm also glad that Gina keeps us going on this bites and vites post, it truly has helped me see that I really am doing what I should be as I form the next plan of attack.
