I am not complaining, and it is over 20 pills probably closer to 30.. I was just hoping maybe there was something different that I can take. But I will stick with vtaladys regimen and just see what I can buy cheaper somewhere else...  I just have to get into the the practice of taking them everyday, I keep forgetting, I was never good with pill taking. But I am getting weak and I am sure it has alot to do with my problem... ready to get on track again....

Any advice on proten supplements? I havent tried ever shake out there but I am really not a shake person, I found the protein shots which each vial has 50 grams. but they are disgusting..lol and $4.95 a shot.

I am just trying to take care of myself and not get in anymore credit card debt, I am already digging myself out of $20,000 debt

I can empathize with the debt.  Not a fun place to be.  Unfortunately, this is not a place where you can cut costs.  Your health is very important.

As for protein shakes....I like the ready to drink premier nutrition chocolate that you can get from Costco or Sams.  I add a couple ounces of heavy whipping cream to it.  Very yummy.  30 g protein!

I haven't been terribly impressed with those premier protein drinks -- but then, I never thought about adding the whipping cream.  That will be my drink tomorrow -- and maybe even tonight!

Eh...protein drinks are all about individual taste and preference. Unfortunately all you can do is a lot of trial and error with asany brands/flavors as you can to findone or two that you like. I really like Chike as well. A little more carbs in it...but very tasty as well. And yes, the whipping cream does make a difference :-)

Syntrax Nectar Sweets are the least proteiny tasting to me. I like the vanilla for my coffee and the chocolate and strawberry mousse for lunchtime shakes. Vitalady and VitaminShoppe carries it.

Join the club on the debt!  I'm on a debt reduction plan myself, but with my other medical issues, it's kind of hard.

Regarding vitamins - I got the Vitalady DS plan when I was first out. searched for cheapwer sources of the same vites, and id that.  There are one or two items I still get from her, but once you know what to take and how much, you can put it together yourself, from eBay, Amazon, and I use Lucky Vitamin as a souce for some.  I have been able to find the dry A, D, E, And K's pretty easily this way.  Some are a bit pricey, but I look at it this way; either I take care of myself and be proactive, or I end up with a huge hospital bill.

For protein, I get unflavored whey protein isolate..available in 10# bags, whatever flavor extracts I want (grocery store, BIg Lots) and Splenda (Different brand of same at Big Lots), and milk and eggs, and I'm good.  I will neeed shakes for the rest of my life to meet my 90-100g daily protein needs.  You may not.  Great trade-off  for more than 245 pounds gone!

How are you absorbing the omega 3?

If I'm not mistaken, than has an oily base, and we don't absorb it.

I take Melaleuca Omega 3 Creme Delights

http://www.melaleuca.com/ProductStore/ProductDetail.aspx?sku =3124

I am not sure if the link will work for you....but Omega-3 Crème Delight is made with a specialized high shear process that breaks the oil into tiny microbeadlets that are easier for the body to absorb and use.

It is a creamy treat, lol.  I know that I am absorbing it well because I can actually feel the difference.

I am following the DS plan of vitalady as well.. I have heard suggestions of amazon, lucky vitamin, etc... I found 2 vites that are cheaper but no other ones. can some possibly break down what vites you buy from what site...  like a shopping list?? and where you get that particular vitamin.

please....

I'm pre-DS (surgery scheduled for 12/16/13), and the only vitamins I've been directed by the Dr. to take are:

Bariatric Advantage Chewable Multi+ADEK - 2x/day

CoQ10 - 50 mg 2x/day

Chewable Calcium Citrate - 1500mg 1x/day

Chewable Iron: 15 mg 1x/day

Vitamin B12 sublingual - every other day

Perhaps I'll need to take more after surgery?
