RNY to DS/ Will I ever feel normal

Guess its just been a bad few days. I had DS 5/8 and was in hospital for two months. I still can't eat. I just sometimes wonder if I'm ever going to be normal again. Today I like gagged on both protein drinks I had. Even water sometimes makes me sick. My Dr keeps telling me its going to be a long recovery and I'll look back a year from now and be so thankful.  I guess I just needed to vent. I'm happy with the weigh loss but I just hurt sometimes.  This weekend was a gag fest so my stomach is really sore. Anyone else out there that had major issues with their operation have long recoveries?  I just hope this is normal and eventually I'll be able to eat something.

This is not normal. You will probably need to talk to your doctor again and if he/she is unwilling to take you serious then go see someone else. I'm not sure who your surgeon was but I can't imagine that they are not taking this serious. 5 months is a long time to be living in this situation after any surgery. You may have a stricture. I would ask/demand that your doctor start running some tests, even if it is just to rule possibilities out.
