Anyone with the DS in my age group? (Im 28)

I know a lot of people who go through with surgery are much older than I am, and I value your experience and support so much!! But I was wondering if there was anyone else here who had the surgery and was close to my age? Just wondering about the likely hood of loose skin, and how bad it will be afterwords. I know when I lost weight before with the Lapband, I didn't really have any loose skin. Some on my stomach, and my upper arms, but other than that...I was pretty good. Hoping now, 6 years later it will be pretty much the same. But skin is different at 22 than it is at 28, haha. I am really worried about loose skin. Anyone here have plastic surgery after?

I am 29 - so close in age. However, I am only 5 weeks out so too soon to tell about loose skin. I also had the lapband and never had much loose skin either (I went from 278 to 160ish) I was also about 24 when I lost all my weight - so not quite as long for me but long enough I am sure. So not much insight to share but I am crossing my fingers that it will be similar for both of us!

HEY OP!  I am 25 so a little younger (I had the DS at 21).  I am three years out and yes the loose skin was rough.  I was 340 at my highest and was 150 when I had my skin removal surgery.  I spent the last year before surgery lifting HEAVY weights to tighten up my skin as much as possible but some just wouldn't go back to where it came from.  PLEASE feel more than free to PM me if you have any questions at all!  I'm more than happy to help in anyway I can!

(P.S. I am also a revision from a crap band)

I'm 30 and trying to figure out which surgery is best for me, can you tell me a little bit about why you chose the DS, thanks.

I had the Lapband.  I lost almost 100 lbs, and then it failed to work after I got pregnant.(Only 7 months later) I only want to have one more surgery, and I have seen a lot of by-pass patients fail. The DS has the highest sucess rate and best chance of keeping the weight off long term. I am happy with my decision.

I'm 28 but only three months out so I can't say anything about the loose skin yet. Love my DS though.

If yOur BMI is 65 as you State On your ProfiLE, it Would Be a TrUe mircAle if  you got to a normaL BMI without loose skin nomAfter your age, genetics, where You carry Your weight, how long you've hAd the exCess Weight etc.  No matter, to lose over 200lbs and to appear like you neve had it is just about impossible.

The thing is, if you need to, you fiX it when you need to.  With my Band I lost 115 and was a Size 5.  I looked preTty deceNt, but looking at my thighs naked it was clear they had deflated.  The closer you get to normal weight the more the excess skin shows.

No worries, you will do greaT & look fine no matter what.

All best,L.
