So is Dr. Kesheshian really the rockstar I hear he is? He's about an hour away from me and I'm curious if he's worth the travel?

He's one of the best DS surgeons around, does the most complex revisions of other, failed bariatric operations to the DS as well. And frankly, 1 hour of travel is NOTHING in the scheme of things. Many people travel from all over the country for the DS, esp if they need revisions.

I actually know of a woman in South Africa who traveled to him for her DS.  I traveled 8 hours to him for mine.  He is a rockstar.

Traveling an hour is nothing for a DS surgeon.  Many DSers travel much farther for any DS surgeon, much less a great one.  You are so lucky to be so close.

I just had surgery Wednesday with him I traveled 6 hrs. Im glad I did had I not more than likely I would be dead right now. Seriously when he got on he said the previous surgeon had made a mess out of my insides. It took him 2 hrs just to clean my insides up and even start the revision.  Then my bp dropped to the point of death. EVERY SINGLE TIME the called he answered the phone. Even at 3 am. He came to ser me EVERY DAY first thing in the am by 8 at latest he was there.  He even came on SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.  He is worth a whole lot more than an hour drive. He has performed over 1900 high risk surgeries.  HES THE MAN

I don't even know what to say. Thank you for your post. I feel so good now about my decision to go with him now. I really hope you have a speedy recovery. I'm so sorry you had such a terrible first surgery. 

Yes, HE IS.  Although he referred me to another Rock Star when I moved to Germany.  If I hadn't needed the last surgery on an emergency basis, I would have gone back to Dr. K, though.

I wish I only lived an hour away from Dr. K! I flew from MI to CA to have him as my surgeon and he was worth every mile....
