Do you feel healthier or less healthy since your DS and are you happy with the DS?

I have heard some folks state that they are healthier and others state they are sick all the time after the DS. I would love to hear about your experiences.

I say this after 11 months, a loss of over 100 lbs and an episode of  intussusception that has sidelined me for 2 months...

I am HAPPY AND HEALTHY AND WOULD DO THIS AGAIN!!!

Healthier and pain free for the most part. Last 2 years I've had flare ups with frozen shoulders, possibly thanks to type II diabetes, which is resolved now.

Words cannot EXPLAIN how this surgery changed my life.  I am HAPPY, HEALTHY and I can BREATHE again.

I'm in the BEST shape of my life and I have a future that I never thought I would ever have.

I'm almost 3 years out.  180 lbs gone and I'm training for a Bodybuilding competition.  The DS doesn't work unless you work it.  You HAVE to put in the effort to change your lifestyle and the bad habits that caused you to get to where you are in the first place (not you OP but you as a general blanket statement)

The HARDEST thing about this surgery was having to really evaluate what the problem was.  Having the DS didn't fix the problem...it was just a SYMPTOM of the problem.  I had to spend a LOT of time soul searching and changing my relationship with food for this surgery to be as successful as it was.

I cherish every single moment of my new life with my DS

I am in awe of the power of the DS.  Happy, healthy, and grateful for the power of the DS.  Words cannot adequately describe my appreciation for this surgery and the doctors who "get it"...

Also -- I am so thankful and appreciative for all the DS'ers that support each other on this and other boards.  Thank you!
