after surgery question....
Yea two dogs could do a number on a sore healing belly.... too bad you can not give them a little lecture about momma healing.... if only pups would listen :) I gave the lecture to my twins and I am thinking mine will listen about as well as your pups :D

after my open DS,
I found no problem with stairs, taking them slowly, at first, using the handrail
no lifting of kids or pets for three months, to avoid hernia problems
I used several pillows, tucked around me in my bed. (no recliner). I slept best in a 3/4 position - that is halfway between being on my side and being on my back. Also turned onto my side to get in and get out of bed. Tricks learned after a hysterectomy
I spent much of my time in close proximity to the bathroom. It took a few days for me to get accustomed to the signals my body gave to when I needed to go. I needed to be close for the more urgent times. I suggest trying to set up a lounging/resting location near the bathroom for the first while
I can not tell you how happy I am to hear that several are saying a c-section was worse... Thrilled... Maybe this Ds thing will not be so bad :) uhg going to jinx myself again..... :D

My surgery was open and because of scar tissue and hernia repair it was a pretty big incision .A friend let me borrow her craftmatic bed which was such a Godsend-My husband and our friends went over, picked it up and they set it up in the spare room. I could put the bed at any angle I wanted and when I could eventually lay it almost flat I knew I could finally get into my own bed. It took me about a month which was a lot longer than I expected. I had no problem with stairs- just laying down. You might have toprop yourself up for a couple of nights on your sofa but just take each day at a time.
Good luck! Wishing you a speedy recovery!
