High B6 Level

I just got my bloodwork results and it's showing that my B6 is 52.6 when the range is 2.1-21.7.

Is this anything I need to be concerned about?

Mine stays high and I've stopped my B-complex for a couple of years now. If you're on B-complex, you might want to stop but you need to have B1 checked and see if you need to keep supplementing B1 separately.

Desert Harvest makes a B complex without B-6. That's what I have to take.

agreement. Of the whole B family, B6 is the only one that can kick up a fuss if too high. It acts like deficiencies in any of the B family, making it hard to hunt down the issue.

That said, mine was stratospheric for years. Don's too. We were not taking any B beyond the multi vites, and B12 shots.

My high B6 levels still upset the docs, but I keep pointing out that we can't take less than none. The speck in the multis shouldn't even be enough, let alone too much.

If your B1 is dandy, I don't see added benefit in a Bplex, providing you are taking a COMPLETE MULTI VITE, that has a nice smattering of B vites, and separate B12

P.S.  My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.

A couple of my B's were high in January when I had my labs checked.  Its a vitamin that we really don't have a problem absorbing.  I was supplementing with a B multi (in addition to a B12).  I have cut back my B multi to every second or third day.

If you do a search, you will find that most dont need to supplement heavily with Bs.  With the utmost respect to Vitalady, I think her B recommendations for DSers is a little on the high side.    It is the only vitamin recommendation by Vitalady that I don't follow.

Labs and water soluble vitamins are a snapshot in time.  The levels change constantly based on how you eat and supplement.  We usually absorb B's quite well.  For many of us, all that's needed is in our food and Multis.

My B6 also went through the roof. I stopped my B Complex and I am keeping an eye on B1 through labs.

I don't know what it is about B6 but we don't seem to be able to lose it once we get that lab up.
